The Pros:

• Coffee made from the Capresso MT-500 tastes very pleasant, due to the lack of chlorine and metallic taste of the aluminium.
• There is no doubt that the coffee brewed in a Capresso MT-500 is brewed hot at the beginning. Not only that but using a Capresso MT-500 means that the coffee remains hot after the initial cup. This is without the need to pre-heat the carafe. The hot water heats the Capresso MT-500 fast and since steel is a conductor, the carafe warms quickly.
• By extracting the maximum flavour from the grinds, the Capresso MT-500 uses less coffee so can be economical
• The keypad on the machine is easy to use and understand. The cord compartment is also very handy.

The Cons:

• The price of the Capresso MT-500 can be a challenge. Although the Capresso MT-500 looks as though made with stainless steel, there are plastic and fake steel parts to it.. The brew technology is good, but the price is hard to justify in comparison to other models. The coffee from a Capresso MT-500 is a better, but it would be easy to not identify the difference from other machines.
• The Capresso MT-500 is not well designed in the way it receives the brew. The entry hole is too small. Sometimes there is a tendency for the carafe to overflow. It needs to be set perfectly to avoid this. The lips on the Capresso MT-500 should be bigger by about 1/4″ to prevent spillage. Caution is required when handling the carafe. Sometimes the ball sticks so even if it is lined up perfectly, it will still overflow. Make sure the green ball on the Capresso MT-500 is moving before putting the lid on the pot. Use the tip of a knife to jar it loose if it is stuck.
• The lack of a removable water reservoir is a detriment to the Capresso MT-500. The machine is a little on the heavy side and doesn’t slide easily, plus you hide the cord. A removable water reservoir would have increased the versatility of the machine very much.
• The carafe pours slowly.
